Our Big Move to North Carolina
Our Davie Home

We have so many memories in this house. Over the last couple of weeks we have been recounting all the fun times and relationships we have built in South Florida. Tony and I brought our first 2 babies home to this house in Davie. Both of our girls have made friends that we will be able to tell them about in years to come. It has been a wonderful 4 1/2 years as a family and as a couple. What stands out the most in our minds is how faithful the Lord has been to us in joyfully times and those times that were full of tears. We will miss our family being so close and our church family at Palm Vista. We are also excited about the next chapter our family's life.
Moving week was so crazy. I want to say a special thanks to Mindy who coordinated help getting packing and having meals delivered. She was also at our home almost every morning for a week packing up boxes, what a blessing to a 29 week pregnant mom.
Saturday morning came so fast we were all packed and ready but mentally it was hard to see all our things leaving our home and going into a truck, the finality of it all was setting in.
Both Broward homegroups showed up in force with 9 men and 4 women ready to serve bright and early. I was doing good until Tony came to me and said you may want to go look outside and start to pick out things that we can live without because it doesn't look like the truck can hold everything. So I went outside to take a look and this is what I encountered.

I thought to myself there is no way I have no idea what we can live without, it is just to much stuff. But thanks to Rafa and Dan, the master packers, everything made it in safely. During unpacking we found nothing damaged or broken praise the Lord.
We spend our last time of worship Sunday morning at Palm Vista. We will miss our church and all the family we have made over the last 4 years. We love you guys and will always hold a fondness in our hearts for you. After church we attended a church wide goodbye party. It was such a bitter sweet time to say "see ya later" because it is not goodbye after all.
Monday morning came quick and after getting the car loaded on the dolly we were off at 6:00am.

Melissa and Jon came with us. Thanks to you guys we could not have made this trip on our own.

Here is Jon driving the big rig that held our our earthly belongings. There is something cerile about watching a truck full of all our your possession barreling down the highway with your brother-in-law at the wheel. Of course Tony and Jon had fun driving the humongous thing and they did do a great job.
We did stop at Cracker Barrel for our last lunch in Florida. Road trip meal at Cracker Barrel is a prerequisite where I come from. Of course we had a family photo op on the rocking chairs.

The girls did a great job in the car. We had to stop every 2 hours or so to walk the pregnant lady and get gas and snacks of course.

It took us 15 hours to get to Florence, SC on Monday night. We got in around 9:30 and the girls attacked uncle Jon right before we all crashed for the night.
Our Apex Home

We arrived in Apex at 11:30 Tuesday morning. The girls were so excited to see our new house. All though they were a little grumpy for not have a really schedule in days that they ran around the house and Abigail pick out her room. The trip went well but we were all ready to arrive. A couple of guys for our new church in Apex, Sovereign Grace Church help Tony and Jon move in. What a bless to have a built in church family here in Apex.

We went to dinner our second night here and this picture of Abigail is to prove that we are differently Floridians and not use to low 60s at the end of May.
We are starting to settle in, the girls are doing great. Most of the boxes are unpacked, and most of the closets and cabinets are organized. Word of advice to you ladies never move while pregnant. Last Sunday we went to church for the first time here and in many ways it felt like home. This week we are trying out homegroups and making new friends. We really are enjoying the area and love our new home.
The Lord has been so faithful throughout this process with selling our home in Davie so quickly to giving us the bigger truck, which we needed, for the price of the smaller one, to providing a home in Apex that is 2 minutes for our church. Not to mention what he has done in our hearts to prepare us for the journey.
